Joseph the Seer

In 2nd Nephi chapter 3
There is an ancient prophecy
About a seer who'd live today
And show us Heavenly Father's  way

Joseph was to be his name
They called his father just the same
As Jacob's son who made a stand
And saved his kin Egypt land

This Joseph had a work to do
That has great worth for me and you
He was assigned to bring God's word
To all men so it could be heard

Now do you know who this seer was?
It's important just because
The Book of Mormon was his gift
This prophet's name was Joseph Smith
